      Effie's Homemade Oatcakes

      Details

Meet Effie - Boston 1959. Back in Nova Scotia, Joan's mother, Effie MacLellan, learned a generations-old recipe for oatcakes that she carried to her new home in Boston. On baking days, Effie would send her children out with stacks of warm biscuits, wrapped and ready to share with the neighborhood. Joan and her longtime friend, Irene, knew these biscuits were exceptional and wanted to pass Effie's tradition to the next generation. Today, they aim to bring the humble biscuit to unexpected heights with flavors and varieties that are perfect for pairing and sharing. Joan & Irene. Oatcake Our Original: Crisp, buttery layers of toasted oats with a hint of salt. A classic tea biscuit. Delicious with jam, nut butter, or any cheese - from blue to brie. Certified WBENC: Women's Business Enterprise.
